SF Book Craftsman

SF Book Craftsman, aka John Sheehan, grew up in New England and resettled in San Francisco in 1984.  He has just recently relocated to San Diego California. John began writing fiction in high school. He continued to write fiction novels while he worked a day job as a graphic designer. He managed to enjoy a long and productive career in the printing and publishing industry and acquired a large amount of knowledge about book and magazine publishing. He is still developing new skills in the mode of e-books and e-book marketing. He has currently six e-book novels on the market at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. 

The first major historical fiction project John undertook was the Billy'O Epic which he began in 1988. He did not complete the work until the year 2000. The project required extensive amounts of research which provided John with a large base of information about American History.  The Billy'O Epic is an emigrant story that encompasses the era beginning with the Irish Diaspora during the Great Irish Famine to the California Gold Rush and through to the American Civil War.The 4 book series is now availble as e-books at the Amazon Kindle Book store.  An excerpt of the Billy'O Epic is published as a Hub titled: Civil War, 150th anniversary, A soldier's journey to the Battle of Bull Run.

John is dedicated to assisting other writers to produce their work and present it to the public. He has published a number of other hubs that provide information and how to instruction in various areas of print and e-book production. He has also offered some tutorials offering tips on Book Illustration and Digital Image Editing.

John is instituting a new set of hubs offering instruction in drawing and painting. In addition to a career in graphics and writing. John is also an accomplished artist and has been painting and drawing since he was a child. 2011 represents his 50th year as a painter. In order to celebrate that milestone, he is willing to assist other artists and those who aspire to be artists.
